Cascades in St. Lucie West is an active adult community with a 55+ age restriction. This gated neighborhood has all single story, detached single family homes ranging in living space from 1,257 to 2,473 square feet. Construction of the 1,158 homes began in 2000 by the builder Levitt and Sons and ended around 2006 upon final completion.
Cascades homes are concrete block construction and include brick paver driveways, barrel tile roof, covered front entry, and a cover back patio. Gas lines supply the hot water heater, A/C, and some homes do have a gas stove for cooking. Oak trees line the neighborhood and you’ll find sidewalks on every street making walking the dog or sharing a stroll with a friend an easy afternoon pastime. As a member of the Cascades at St Lucie West, the Homeowner Association provides endless amenities and activities. In 2014 the 26,000 square foot clubhouse and gym were completely remodeled. A state of the art fitness center with sauna and aerobics room along with three comfortably furnished card rooms, a billiards room, fully appointed library, and computer room with internet access. Homeowner’s dues are $284 a month (paid quarterly). Fees cover lawn maintenance, irrigation, security gate, basic cable television, in-home security monitoring. Cascades does allow up to two dogs with no weight restrictions.
