An equestrian community of 109 homesites, Foxwood is located just west of I-95 and the Turnpike in beautiful Martin County. Foxwood is a Sanctuary for Birds and Private Community for Horses and Humans nestled in Natural Surroundings.
Foxwood is a Deed Restricted Community where Custom built homes sit on large lots of two acres or more with one horse per acre permitted. Residents are encouraged to keep the Natural Habitat not completely clear it. A practice that allows wildlife to feel at home in Foxwood exists as well. Common Areas in Foxwood are minimal keeping HOA fees well below comparable communities in the area.
Foxwood was established in 1978. Five years later, the community had property owners in three phases of the development. By 1990, the creators of Foxwood had opened development on a fourth phase. It contains a Natural Preserve Area which is maintained, monitored, and managed by the Foxwood Property Owners Association.
All roads are private in Foxwood. The Foxwood Property Owner's Association maintains the four and a half miles of road system providing plenty of pathways for humans and horses. A Road Reserve fund is the major portion of the annual budget raised by Foxwood Property Owner's Association annual fees to residents of Foxwood.
