North Hutchinson island is part of Hutchinson island located south of Vero Beach and north of Fort Pierce inlet. East of A1A the residential development is largely mid-rise condominium apartments, while west of A1A there is a mix of single-family houses, townhouses and low-rise condominium apartment buildings. For most of its length A1A is know as Atlantic Beach Boulevard. The beach to the north of the Fort Pierce inlet jetty are some of the few accreting beaches on the east coast of Florida.
